l must have 20+ pairs of binoculars, but never thought about scopes, my partner picked up a Kenko 71A scope the other day and l thought hmmm, so took it upstairs to the spare room and pointed it to my beehive which is 10meters away, 00 l fell in love with scopes! l could see them little bees taken the pollen into their hives and that was it, hooked! so yesterday l have ordered a used Gosky 20-60-80 ED cheap as chips for £100 selling on Amazon for over £300, but after reading this forum l should have waited for maybe a Nikon setup.

I Should get the Gosky tomorrow am sure it will fill a void till l find something long-term that comes along, what l would like is a scope that has a good minimum focus say 7m but that could also do Astro.. would a Nikon 82ED fit the bill ?

Thanks..

It is good to start with a "cheap as chips" scope. That will let you explore your usage without large financial expenditure. You can plan for the future with the results you get today. Maybe the "cheap as chips" scope will satisfy for the long run or maybe its use will suggest you want something different later.

Just done a quick side by side comparison with the old Kenko and the new Gosky ED and the Kenko wins! You can see the clarity in the older glass, it just proves newer isn't always better.
