Hi Pilgrim,
I know I must have tried the Badger at some time, but sorry, I don't think I can offer much help on what it is like to use. From Viking's own description it is an entry level model. It lacks some of the lens and prism coating found on pricier models, which is fairly typical at that price, and I think some here would consider the view a bit the narrow. On the other side, it is very light at 606g, has good eye relief, which is important if you wear glasses and does come with a 5 year warranty. I strongly recomend you try these and others before you buy. There appears to be a couple of shops in Somerset and Bristol isn't that far away. If you can't get to those places, then try phoning a specialist shop. They will usually offer sound advice and may well me cheaper than that auction site. These guys list a lot of options for around £100.

Good luck,
