Viking Traveller Binoculars 10x25 (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'am looking for a cheap pair of Binoculars just to carry around with me in my pocket to look out for the birds then shoot them (with a camera ) are the RSPB Viking Traveller Binoculars 10x25 a Good buy? as I'am only looking for something cheap and lightweight, small.

I've not tried them, but there are all kinds of reasons why they are likely to be dreadful but at £15 at vikingopticalcentres it's an affordable gamble.

If you wan't a more assured performance at a reasonable price then reverse porros like the Olympus PCIII 7x21 (not suitable for glasses) at about £30 or the Olympus PCI 8x25 at about £50 would be a much better bet. They might look a bit like toys but they are proper binos and will offer a brighter, sharper view. They are not waterproof but can be tucked in a jacket pocket. For a roof prism pair of comparable quality you would need to pay quite a bit more. The Hawke Frontier PC 8x25 at about £90 has had some good comments here.

Avoid these - they'll drive you mad trying to get a decent image and yes I've tried a few.
