Vortex Viper Stiff Focus Wheel ? (1 Viewer)

We are looking at getting some Vortex Viper 10x42 binoculars because of the great view for the price and the good handling, but we are concerned that the focus wheel is too stiff compared with the Opticron competion and my 30 year old Zeiss 10x42 BGA. The salesman says it loosens up with time, Can any Vortex Viper owners out there confirm that ? We have looked at two pairs so far, and one may have been a little looser than the other. Is it worth looking for a "looser" one ?
