Could someone please ID this wader for me, photographed today at RSPB Leighton Moss Lancashire UK 19/08/2019, many thanks.

It's a juvenile Knot.

Yes. Note the green/yellowish legs, on a medium-sized wader with stocky appearance.

I suspect it's a reference to lack of where in the world your sighting was. I looked at one of your threads earlier entitled simply "ID please", and when I opened it, the location would only be understood by someone from the UK. I don't mind opening pics with zero location info, but some folks do
