Any ideas with this wader taken today in Cumbria

that was my next thought but bill looked long and just didnt quite look right

Little Stints vary in size & bill length like most waders. It does look almost as big as the Dunlin in the photo, but a small Dunlin vs normal/large end of scale Stint might explain this?

Might also be a bit of a size illusion thing going on in favour of the stint? It is a bit further away than the Dunlin, and long-range photos often make further away objects appear larger than they really are.

I can't think what else it could be other than a LS. We don't see enough in winter to get properly familiar with them. Could well be a 1st w rather than an adult.

thanks Steve and everyone else. I had pretty much concluded it must be a little Stint but wanted to check i wasnt missing something.
