Both are excellent binoculars optically. The Habicht is one of the best binoculars I have ever looked through and will beat your Conquest's HD hands down on center sharpness. I love to look thru the Habicht's but they don't work that good for birding because the focus is stiff and slow. I mean REALLY stiff and I had two different pairs because I wanted them to work because they are beautiful optically. The EII on the other hand is optically equal to the Habicht and has a much bigger FOV with actually pretty good edges and a big sweet spot. The EII's eyecups are also softer and bigger and more comfortable than the Habicht's. The Habicht's are smaller and hard and to me uncomfortable. For birding the EII is a much more comfortable binocular to use. Also, if you favor red when it comes to contrast the Nikon EII's are your binocular because almost all Nikon's favor the red spectrum and have a warmer tone versus say a Zeiss that is more neutral and cold. You would probably like the Habicht's 8x30 optically but you won't like using them.</p></blockquote><p></p>
