An hour in the garden. I wasn't just watching the world go by this morning, but I did spend an hour out there. A bit of gardening, hanging out the washing and having a cuppa! It was sunny and warm initially but, as the pictures will show, it changed as the hour went by. There were dozens of bees on the lavender and the oregano flowers, a few butterflies almost constantly on the move because of the wind. The only one that settled was a Painted Lady that took a fancy to the dog's kennel, making photography rather easier. The other butterflies were Small White, Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell. Not many birds around as it was well after breakfast and I was out there and they tend to disappear when I appear! The House Martins were around all the time, a Blackbird that obviously still has young to feed was back and forth and the ever present Woodies popped in. Shortly before the hour was up the sky began to darken and I had to rapidly take in the washing, shut the summerhouse, put all the gardening bits away and head for indoors before it rained. A pleasant hour at no real expense!
