Last Thursday 3rd Feb on me way into work on the bus, I noticed some birders (4 or 5?) looking at some bushes on the corner of Leeds St. & Scotland Rd. in Liverpool. I was on the 433 Crossriver Express going into town, so was on the other side of the road.
I assumed they were looking for Waxwings since there were some berry-laden bushes in front of them. They didn't look like they were actually viewing any birds & I didn't see any. Since it's dark when I'm on me way home I looked out each morning but didn't see anything & no more birders until 1 yesterday morning (I think, after all who else would be standing around staring at a bush, hehe).
This morning I saw a flock of maybe 20-30 birds (could have been more). They were moving between the berry-laden low bushes (berries about head height) & the higher bushes adjacent. If you go to google maps & zoom in you can view the area pictorially, just at the end of Edgar St.
If I can rise early enough tomorrow morning I'll take me bins, get off the bus a stop early & have a little look
