Goodness me, last night takes the biscuit for being the coldest yet! :eek!::eek!:

The frost has remained all day, and the birds have gone frantic on the feeders. It has been very cold indeed.

I heard that it was -7 in some places. :eek!:

I think the skies are going to be clear tonight, so another frosty night is in order. :eek!:

Boy was it cold here at 6 a.m. this morning. Frost everywhere. I hadn't felt that cold out & about for a long time. It was -3c in Exeter & Newton Abbot, but had warmed up to 7c around 9.30 a.m. & once the sun got to work on the land. Lovely blue sky though & no wind at all.

Grey, 2C. First morning for a while without a frost. Got half my lawn back now. Not that it's worth having at this time of year. The birds appreciate it though.

Freezing frost last night, now it is all is damp looking this morning. :-O

Brightening up at the moment, and it is improving all of the time. Still cold though as the birds told me already in their own unique way. o:)

Another very heavy frost overnight but the temperature has zoomed up to 4.5c now! Grey and murky to start, but that has cleared and we have blue skies, fluffy white clouds and sunshine once again.

Overcast, a grey, dull morning, rain since, but the Devon type rain, more a misty drizzle (mizzle) Much milder than it has been.

We had a Blackcap male this lunchtime, plus the usual birds. No Goldie today.

The Robin was being cheeky again, while I was filling the feeders for the birds, so I put a sprinkling of food on the grass specially for him, which he ate, he then flew on the fence within a foot or two of me & treated me to a song. He's lovely.o:D

Day of three parts here.....frosty and dull to start, frosty and sunny for most of the morning and increasing cloud with light rain this afternoon. As Val has said, much warmer.

A gloomy morning with rain later. Temp has been 4C all day and still is. A really miserable day:-C.

After prolonged rain from yesterday afternoon until late evening I was almost pleased to see the frost this morning! Broken clouds at present but certainly a bright start to the day!

A Robin sang in the garden early this morning and a Collared Dove arrived for some food. First one for awhile now.

A frosty start with plenty of sunshine, 0C. I do like the quality of light on mornings like this, everything seems to have a bit of a glow. Still some stubborn patches of snow lingering. Just the regulars about, sparrows, starlings and a blackie.

A strange sort of day. Poured with rain overnight, then brilliant sunshine and blue skies until about twenty minutes ago; now very overcast and could well hiss down.

Some blue sky today but remains cold and slippery underfoot.
I hung a suet coconut shell nearby to save time a few days ago and to my delight a Blackcap found it this morning. I'm hoping to get a nice close up pic.
fingers crossed!

Its been a cold, crisp and sunny day, so different from yesterday. The glow after sunset lingered for a long time causing what I call a frosty sky. 2C at present.

My garden backs onto a small roundabout and while refilling the feeders this morning I heard a skid then a bang. Looking through the fence (a bit difficult as its covered in ivy), I saw a young man assessing the damage to his car as he'd skidded into a high kerb. It couldn't have been that bad as he drove it away but the car was making a very strange noise. Speed and frost :C.

Speed and frost do not mix do they, Bea! A timely warning! The pavements are also a hazard, the trouble is the pavements aren't gritted as the roads are so extra caution is needed as they can feel like a skating rink!:eek!:

Showers on and off this morning with the weather improving this afternoon. Frost forecast for tonight, take care if walking or driving everyone.

Frost underfoot is not good. I went to visit the school where I am a governor yesterday and nearly went base over apex in the car park as it was very icy.
