Frosty, -2C at the moment, sun is trying to put in an appearance.

Usual vistors, but very flighty, there must be something out there disturbing them.

Beautiful bright day today, and looking forward to a short walk to town later on today. :t:

Birds went mad with excitement for their food this morning. They seem to tell us how cold it has been overnight. o:)

Morning Wendy brrrrrrrrrr!
Is that a Redwing I see?

Frosty here today, I notice the female Bullfinch has found herself a little hideaway at the bottom of a bush. awww!
Braved the slippery ice to top up the feeders and sadly found a dead Bluetit.
It was perfect & frozen, looked like something you would hang on the x'tree, poor thing.
The Blackcap has briefly visited my "nearby lure" twice, I notice the long thinner shape is different from last years B'cap.
I hope to get a pic for comparison.
Stay warm folks!

A very frosty window, Wendy.
Frosty here too, but OH defrosted the car, before I thought to take the camera out to take a pic. The sun is warming everything up nicely now, though the bird bath had a thin sheet of ice on it. No wind so it does feel warmer in the sun.

Heavy frost overnight. Blue skies and sunshine all day. 3c.

I liked this frosty leaf on the bonnet of son's car - taken at 10.30 this morning.

That's very artistic, Kits. Love the colour of the car too!!!

This was the weather on the coast this afternoon. It was breezy, but pleasant in the sun and out of the wind. There were very few birds around, not even gulls, I reckon that they are all inland at the moment judging by the numbers I see at home!

Hi Pie

So sad with your little Blue tit - wonder if it was the cold that got it, and it was not strong to cope. :-C

Great news about the Bullfinches - they are to die for. My OH loves them and they are his favourite bird. He has only seen a male in the wild, so far.

Blackcaps please send them this direction soon! :-O

Kits: Love all the ice crystals on your leaf, on the blue background - very artistic. o:)

Wendy - Lovely picture of your Coast trip! Very dramatic.

A heat wave today, 1.7c!

A Heron had a brief look around the garden yesterday morning. Blackcaps returned too! The male was chased off by either a Robin or Dunnock, not sure which as it happened so quickly! He returned shortly afterwards!
I haven't spotted the Blackcaps in the garden yet today but plenty of Woodies (13) after the ground feed along with the Blackbirds (4).

Feeling the chill factor today! Heating has been on a lot! brrrr.........Need to get our Calor Gas heater going.
:eek!:

Weatherwise, it is dull at the moment and the sky looks quite snowy at the moment.

I hope not, as it is getting close to the weekend, and we have one or two things to do. o:)

Hi Pam

Super shot of the Heron. Black caps are still around for you like Santa has promised. fingers crossed, that they make their appearance today for you.

In our garden we have all the usual contenders. The one Great Spotted Woodpecker we have, is becoming our regular visitor. I think he has found his niche now. :-Oo:)

Super photo's from you, Kits, Very artistic & I love the colour of your car too. From Wendy, lovely seascape. And Pam, cheeky Heron, that is a nice pic.
Sunny here, but very frosty, though probably not as cold as some people have it where they live.

Thanks, Val - it is son's car, not mine!

Fab Heron shot, Pam!

Snow here. It snowed overnight, not too thick a layer, but it is still all over the back garden.

Sunny and blue skies this morning, but clouded over this afternoon. 3c.

Cloudy and 1.4c!

Not long ago I went outside to feed the birdies and almost landed on my derriere!!!!!!! Black ice!!! :eek!:
After the rain earlier I didn't give it a thought that the steps from the patio would still be icy, I ended up with half the bowl contents of sultanas and scones over me but stayed upright...just!o:D
So be careful if out and about today.

The garden is quiet this morning except for the Blackbirds, hope they hoover up the mess quickly on the steps!

Grey 0.5C. You are right about the ice Pam. I saw the car frost had melted by 8.30 and didn't give a thought about black ice, but when I stepped out the drive was quite slippy. Rain is forcast. I'm hoping it will come as snow up here, it's always a couple of degrees cooler than in town. Still have a bit from last week.

The track's puddles are still frozen over as are our ponds. Brightly dull - I am hoping the sun will break through. Blooming cold though.
