Same as Val's. The birds were almost non existent in the garden today.

Lots of birds today here, Wendy.

My OH informed me that he saw 16 Woodpigeons guzzling all the food remains from the ground feeders this morning.

Wonder what the milder time will bring us at the moment?

A featureless grey sky, rain and breezy, 8C. Only seen a few ordinary pigeons so far. Some of your Woodys would be very welcome Kathy.

Mild, grey & dull, but not raining. Hardly anyone at the car boots today, but I didn't think there would be. Lots of birds in the garden.

A nice clear day today and it is milder = no heating on all day so far. :-O

Today started out at 20° F and went down hill from there. The temperature was dropping by about 2° F every hour. The wind kicked up and the wind chill was -22°F ! ! !

We were outside for almost an hour and a half this morning putting sheets and blankets around some of our more tender conifers so they wouldn't get windburn. We also put some sheets up as wind breaks near where the birdies feed.

I feel sooooo bad for them! They don't even have socks!

What contrasts we experience. Forecast here was cloudy but it turned into blue sky and 10C.

It's down to 4°F this morning with about the same wind chills. It will warm up to 12°F tomorrow. WooooooHooooooo! Break out the shorts and tanning lotion! LOL!

An almost Spring like day today! A lovely sunny morning! 15.4c this afternoon though now it has clouded over a little.

Surprisingly quiet in the garden apart from the regulars.

I can see a great sunset looming once more - will keep an eye out here.

I was stuck indoors at work from 9am until 5.30 so missed most of the day but the brief spell mid-morning when I nipped out to buy Chrimbo carsds for a couple of friends I'd forgotten (oh the shame!!! :eek! it was pleasantly warm! Clear blue skies virtually all day up here in Alnwick, Northumberland and virtually no wind to speak of. A perfect birding day in fact
I think the forecast s pretty settled for the rest of the week too which is great as I'm planning to get out for a walk on the two days I'm off - 25th & 26th :t:
