A showery morning and hopefully brightening later!

10 Woodpigeons in the garden this morning along with the usual Blackbirds, Dunnocks etc! LTT's are still enjoying the suet feed!

Very wet heavy rain last night :eek!:

Today it is dull though, showery, though not cold I have to say. The showers are going to be off and on all day according to the weather forecast.

Woke up at 5-ish, and opened the window to listen to the birds. What a lot of singing going on with Robins, Blackbirds and Song Thrushes singing in one big chorus together. Loved to hear that and it soothed the mind into slumber again. :-O:-O

Very heavy rain overnight. Sunny morning. Clouded over now, but there are still patches of blue sky.

Not certain that this is the right thread, but don't know where else it could go!

Tonight's moon ...

It's been absolutely glorious up here today :t: Blue skies and bright sun all day and the wind wasn't cold at all!

I had my first Lesser Celendines yesterday and my first Coltsfoot today and I think if this weather continues it won't be long before I see the first bees and butterflies too :king:

This really IS an exciting time of year o:) You have to feel sorry for folks who aren't interested in nature because they miss SO much :smoke:

Very artistic, Kits! I like that a lot.

I agree Gill about those people who are not interested in nature. This is the most exciting time of the year.

Weather here has been very windy and feeling quite chilly in it, but in the sun it was better.

It's lovely and sunny up here again o:) And it looks like the wind has died down too :t:

Hubby has man flu :smoke: but is still determined to come out with me so I think a nice trip to the coast at Craster is today's plan :t:

I agree with Wendy, Kits, a very artistic photo of the moon.
Cloudy with drizzle here. Mild though.
I also think people miss a lot if they aren't interested in nature. I do get funny looks sometimes when I bird watch as well.

A lovely take on the moon, Kits!:t:
In agreeance with you all re: Lack of nature interest! I don't take my bins to the park for that very reason, Val!o:D

A sunny morning and now a cloudy and showery afternoon! Mild though!

LTT's were on the feeders at 7.00am this morning! They almost beat the Robin and Blackbirds for being first in the garden!

A bit grey but the clouds are beginning to break. 8C. We're promised sunny weather before lunch. Quiet garden as usual.

An ok morning but a bit of sunshine would be good! Supposed to brighten later!

LTT's, Blackbirds, Dunnocks and Woodies in for brekkie! I spotted a Goldcrest in the conifers late yesterday afternoon! Lovely to see if only for a couple of minutes!

I know that my workmates think I'm strange because of my interest in nature but it doesn't bother me at all nowadays :-O The older I'm getting the less I care what folks think! ;) I wouldn't want to be like other folk anyway.....all they do is whinge about the cold weather or being bored - two things I never do o:)

It's been another super day today :t: Bright sun, pretty warm but a very very strong wind that made holding binoculars a tad tricky at times :smoke:

Neil and I had a lovely trip up to Newton Pool today (our first)and were well impressed with the area and I'll definitely be making more visits in the coming weeks as migration begins. We walked back along the beach and it was absolute heaven :king: The high dunes sheltered us from the brunt of the wind and it was liike a relaxing summer's day - we even found some cowrie shells and a 'strawberry topshell' (need to check the id on that one) and part of a vertebrae with two ribs attached.
Apparently there was a singing chiffchaff at Whitley Bay yesterday too o:)

Hi Gill

I have to agree about your first paragraph about enjoying nature and the love of nature.
Yes, I have had my fair share of being mocked even now (don't ask) and you know I think to myself, I am 50 years old, and I know my own mind, what I like and do not like. I love birds and nature, and that is how it is.
I try to make the best of everything as I always do - so there you go. OH feels the same way.
When you are older, people just do not effect you with their own idiosyncrasies any longer. Just water off a ducks back to me!! :gh::gh:
Best foot foward, onwards and upwards, that is what I say, and think now.

I love your mini report on your trip to Newton Pool, It sounded a lovely place to be and enjoy. Good weather and a nice walk what more could you ask for. :t:

Weather has been dull, sunny and a little rainy all at one time today. o:)

What a day today - one of our pipes in the upstairs bathroom gave up the ghost, and we have had a small flood. Had to get a local plumber out today to do a quick fix, and it is sorted now,
Had to empty out buckets of excess water every 2 hours all night and all day :eek!:

So tired now. :cat:

So back to normal once more o:Do:D

Started bright but gone grey now. 7c. A bit of activity in the garden this morning with starlings leading the charge.
