I have decided to set myself a challenge to see how many different species of birds that I can see on live webcams this year. Only real rule is that I have to see them live; not recorded.
To kick off, I have, over the last few days, started in South Africa on LIVE | Allen Birdcam
Later today, I will move on to some of the Cornell Lab cameras.
The list so far is
1) African Grey Hornbill
2) Common/Indian Mynah
3) House Sparrow
4) Speckled Pigeon
5) Black collared Barbet
6) Burchells Coucal
7) Cape Sparrow
8) Fischers Lovebird
9) Green Wood Hoopoe
10) Karoo Thrush
11) Lesser Masked Weaver
12) Laughing Dove
13) Southern Masked Weaver
14) Speckled Mousebird
15) Red-winged Starling
16) Grey-headed Bushshrike
17) Ring-necked Dove
A modest start, but plenty more to come!
