Webcam Birding List 2025 (3 Viewers)

All these birds are new to me, so a mistake or two is likely. I will double check the Shrike if it appears again. I believe the first time I saw it, I went Northern based on the white showing above the mask.
Yes, it is a steep learning curve for all of us. I initially made the same mistake with the shrike! The shorter bill helps distinguish, plus check out their respective distribution maps.

I think there may be 3 new from Ecuador (correct me if I am wrong):

Rufous-tailed Hummingbird (upper photo, second from the right)
Purple-throated Woodstar (upper photo, far right and lower photo, second from the left)
Violet-tailed Sylph (lower photo, far left)
Unsure about the hummingbird on the lower photo, far right - female Sylph?

Another Spanish contribution this morning. Of all the nations in the world, Spain seems to be the most organised with bird web cams.

190) Lesser Kestrel

Just had a White-throated Dipper on Youtube: Castellaine Pont du Roc (France) on the large rock bottom left. My first W Pal dipper in 4 years of searching, I had been watching this site for c5 days solid, so be prepared for a long wait! The image is pretty small so you will need it full screen, so no watching 4 or 9 other sites simultaneously I'm afraid. Good luck, not one for the faint hearted.

Yes, the main sites are Directo Natura and SEO, I'm a cam op on both, but not on all of the cameras. Also try Josep Barnes and WWF Espana. I have plenty more if you are interested.

There's even an Australian one - not always live and resolution/image size not great, but some easy Aussie birds to be seen.

Always happy to try to help with cam suggestions, Gander. Like Dave P, I have previous.

I would be interested in a website with names of common crickets and frogs which make soundscapes in different parts of the world.

A first bird from Colombia. My thanks to @Dave Parker , as it is from Web Cam off extensive list he kindly sent me.

196) Olive-Grey Saltator

And two from Sweden off Dave's list.

197) Golden Eagle
198) Common Raven

When I started this, I underestimated the amount of effort it is taking. I did not really set myself a target figure, but I was thinking 300 species would be fine. With this morning's first bird, I have hit the 200 mark, so realistically I should easily exceed 300, especially with a lot of cameras being switched off until nesting season.
My normal way of identifying unknown birds, for example in Colombia yesterday, is to go to the Wiki page for birds of Colombia (or whichever relevant country), then move the cursor down the list to open up the photos for each bird. The problem with this method is that the photo will typically be of a male, so females/juveniles can be easily missed, but it is what it is, and I'm definitely learning a lot.
Initially I was putting screen shots of birds on the bird ID pages of this forum, but I've decided to not do that too much as it is not what those pages are really purposed for, and I am now resigned to not being able to ID everything, but will just make best efforts.

So, taking me to the 200 mark is an Israeli bird from one of the vulture feeding stations.

200) Cattle Egret

Maybe post them on this thread? I don't think anybody would object and it will add enjoyable challenges for many here
