Weird bird sound!! (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,

Lately I've been hearing a strange sound in the woods near my home which I think is a bird.

It sounds hollow, like someone tapping plastic cups on a table. Could this be a woodpecker? Or something else?

I know it is definitely not a person hammering or anything like that. Also, I hear woodpeckers hammering all the time, but it doesn't sound like what I'm hearing.

I am very curious what this sound can be!

Plastic cups description is a good one - if it was this side of the Atlantic I would say pheasant or grouse or even quail. Does sound like a game bird though

Since your location is a number, and you don't provide a location, it is impossible to narrow down a particular call. But...if I had to hazard a guess, that is similar to a Wild Turkey putting or cutting.
