THe image had a veil or haze but it was apparent with the naked eye, it was just the light coming through the trees. I guess it wasnt the binos fault but it was annoying. THe apparent FOV is huge, much lager than the 7x42's im used tothe size is a little long but this binocular carries lighter (maybe because it is) than the SLC 7x42...i love the focusI love that I bought it at the 2009 "discount price" and come to find out the 2009 EL's have the newer (yet to be marketed ) coating that will present on the swarovision EL...THe binocular feels like a well built instrument and looks the part. The Zeiss FL, while brilliant, does not have the looks or feel that  this bin does. Probably because its plastic...THe Leica was too small for my hands and the focus sucked (didnt try HD, since no CA in my uses)Overall, i think this is a great binocular and for weaknesses, well there arent many if any that are significant anyway....Lastly, i acutally like the lens covers and strap, the case is useless though</blockquote>
