Since we're on the subject of vintage bins, I posted a link on the Zeiss subforum to a pair of 8x40B (Germany) LEITZ Trinovids for sale, got only one response and I couldn't read that, but I thought the ad was interesting since the seller claims these are the "LAST pair of NEW 8x40B (Germany) LEITZ Trinovids in the World" (which I guess justifies the $2K price tag), but here's the amusing part:
"These are "the best binoculars ever made" - just ask Peterson, Lorentz, Cousteau, or any deceased naturalist."
I'm not sure if a seance is included in the price to confirm that, but it looks like he's now throwing a dog into the deal:

For $2K, I would think there would have to be a very large BOW WOW factor.

Dont worry - The old Torpedosight is still the best ever made. And the wow factor is sky high. But you have to see it to believe it.
Just wait until H. T. Seeger comes with his new book about this great binocular later this year. When people do find out how great it is it may raise the value sky high .
