I took one hand and used it as a shade over the top of the objectives and all the glare and wash out went away.  The view was then incredibly clear!  What was interesting is that I tried to recreate the scenario one morning a couple of weeks later and could not.  Now that I have an easy way to get around the problem for what looks to be a rare occurance, I continue to use and enjoy the little Monarch.</blockquote>
