I understand why lower power bins aren't being made. it has been explained on this forum many times the reason; they don't sell. What's a bit frustrating is that people are so stuck on 8x that they need it even in the compacts. I tried a compact once and found it so frustrating. It was a Minox 8x25 I think and the folding barrel type. Aligning the image to my eyes while wearing glasses was frustrating and on top of that fun was setting the IPD with the two barrels. The bin was useless for any moving birds...about all I could look at was a napping duck. This is why I always talk myself out of any compact no matter how many reviewers say it's fine with glasses. Even 8x32 is not too good with glasses for me and that's why I switched to a full size bin. I'd like to see a quality 6.5 or 7x32 and then I'd buy it. Those would be ideal. Smaller bins like 20mm and 25mm may work for me at 5.5x or 6x. I don't know if I would want to go to lower powers than those. I think Lower than 6x is getting too low for me. I know none of these will be made...this is all just wishful thinking and my personal preferences. I'd still like to have a nice 32mm someday and may be forced to buy an 8x32 that's not so bad with glasses. I sometimes think of buying the Swaro SV 8x32 since it seems to be the best 8x32 with glasses due to the long ER and rather large ocular lenses. But, it's very expensive and I just bought a Leica. I'll keep waiting to see what comes out down the road.
