What could've made this nest? (1 Viewer)

Went to give the shed its spring clean, however after discovering this I've had to put it on the back burner!!!

Photo was taken in central Scotland. Note the parts of the chair within the nest, and the large empty mayonnaise jar for size comparison!

Pretty confident that is a mouse nest. Looks just like the one on the engine of my rototiller, except there the fabric getting shredded was the glass fiber over the exhaust area.
Birds don't have the strength to shred a canvas chair the way your first picture shows. A mousetrap seems an appropriate response.

The evident shredding and gnawed areas on the coloured fabric, matching the shreds in the nest, would suggest a rodent.

Where are Forensics when you need em?! ;)

Cheers guys, missus saw a little fella bounding over the grass and into the shed area this morning, so might well be the same mouse.

Mousetrap is a bit harsh though! Even a humane one won't be used, as I don't mind him being there.
