Because waterproofing the IS 10x42 turned them into a seriously un-usable bino, and I don´t need it anyway as my 12x36 have survived the worst rain the West of Ireland can throw at them and survived unscathed. The Canon IS 8x25 I´ve owned are rubbish, but I´d love 8x42 IS without the flare and CA of the 12x36. I don´t think anyone else on the planet wants this, though, so it wouldn´t be very profitable for a manufacturer to produce them for me. (Alternatively I have to learn to hold my new  EL´s steady.....)</p></blockquote><p></p>
