Hi Clive, how are you? Excellent thread, and superb observations. I lost the bug and sold all my 'alpha' roofs. (This coincided with a generel creeping loss of interest in 'active' birding. I still watch birds, but I don't birdwatch, if you get my drift). I've kept 8x32 SE and 10x42 SE, and a pair of EII 8x30. I don't even 'need' these three. In a closet also are a pair of Nato-issue Zeiss-Hensoldt 8x30, and Jena 8x30 which I appreciate mostly for the beautiful case. Some of this little 'collection' will go on the 'bay one day soon. I'd give them to Oxfam if I thought they'd sell them for a good price, just to save me the hassle and time of messing about on e-bay. But they'd probably flog 'em off for a tenner a pair. I grew tired of having so many binos for 'just-in-case' scenarios. 'Stuffocation' set in, and I got rid of scopes too. Couldn't bear to part with my Meopta Meostar S2 HD, not just yet. Damn. Just realised I also have a pair of mint Swift Eaglet 7x36 that I haven't even used. If you forget what binoculars you have, you have too many. I kind of miss the feeling I had as a kid, when a god-awful pair of Copitar 7x50 was my prized possession, and my only bino. I don't understand the concept of the 'super-rich'. How could one possibly cope with the burden of limitless ownership of trinkets, if one feels tied down by a closet-full of binoculars? (Mind you, I have three bicycles...racing, mountain and hybrid. But they're all really different, you see....;))
