I'm lucky in that I've got a range of habitats available to me from coast to hill, so that makes life simpler and lists longer. I've done some twitches, but I'm not a lover of it. I prefer to keep my twitches local and I look after my county list first with the UK list a much lower priority. My longest twitch in the UK in 2008 was about 80 miles for a stilt sandpiper.My county lists for the past few years have all been above 200, but they've dropped back from a peak in the past couple of years as I've been a bit laid back about it and not dashed about.Going back to 2001 (the year of foot & mouth when mobility was restricted) my county lists are;2001 - 2042002 - 2272003 - 2132004 - 2242005 - 2352006 - 2322007 - 2082008 - 215.I'm nowhere near the top county year listers with these numbers, but given the place where I live, I consider them "respectable". Inland birders won't have the chances simply because their counties lack the coastal habitat.</blockquote>
