I don't consider myself being in a good birding area (my section of Washington State in USA)...if I was near the coast, I would have not only the year arounds (inland and coastal) but also all of the migratory population coming and going. So, I have to travel 5-6 hours to witness any of that within a year! Also...time is crucial. When my kids were younger, I couldn't go out and bird nearly as much as I can now....Everything has to go in the mix and bottom line is, it is your life, live it as you see fit.</blockquote>
