For example mitigating factors in my own case have to be...1. I work full time.2. I don't drive.3. I live in an area that's a 2 hour+ drive to coastal environments.4. I have uni work and field trips to do on top of all this.Some people are even "worse off" than me and could add out-of-hours work pressures, kids, unsympathetic partners and conflicts with other hobbies/pastimes.If I had a car and a part time job I'm sure I'd be sailing into at least the mid 200s by now! And I'm sure my dedication doesn't match that of some others - I'm rarely out before 7.30am, for example, and don't go far every weekend. But the size of someone's list isn't always about skill or passion or whatever, but sadly often about how much time and ability they have to get out and about.Being on this level has its advantages - that is it's not unreasonable to expect to track down 40 or so lifers per year. I'm not looking forward to the days (if they ever arrive!) that I'd have to travel to Fair Isle just to see something new <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite2" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=";)" /></blockquote>
