What's the weather doing where you are? Aug-Nov 2008 (1 Viewer)

Sadly the waxwings seem to have moved on to the next berry-laden tree but it was fabulous seeing them yesterday :t: I was, literally, only twenty feet or so from them and it's the best views I've EVER had of them.

Hi Pam....yes, I think that a new monthly weather thread would be a good and interesting idea. It would help us to compare different years as we all know that our memories fail us as to past weather!

Gill....glad that you saw the Waxwings. It would be nice to think that they are heading down here.....;)

BTW...the weather has been rubbish today! Dull, grey and generally miserable.

Thanks for your reply, Wendy.:t:

I had thought of titling it 'December Weather, 2008' if that is ok, or any other suggestion anyone?

Milder and breezy. Rain forecast for later this morning and afternoon, then a cold night.

Plenty of activity this morning around the feeders.

Blue skies, some cloud (behind which the sun is hiding, but about to appear any moment!), much milder than of late.

I am going to try to post this again, it got lost because this p.c. is driving me potty. I have re-booted it so hopefully..........

Lots of rain this morning, but we now have sun, with cloud, it's warm through the windows, but chilly out.

The Corvids have worked out how to undo the catch on the mesh door of the cage round the bird table, clever aren't they. I think I am going to buy a padlock.|:D|o:D

Bright and sunny today so far

Long may it last. :t:

Val: Corvids are clever, and they work out ways to get food as they do. It is mind games with them.

Sez what it is :t:

We've had all manner of weather this morning. I left home at 9am to do some Christmas shopping (I knew what I wanted and where to go for it so it wasn't a nasty ordeal) and it was overcast and very windy. Then I had some heavy rain and by the time I got back home at just after midday it was glorious sunshine :t:
According to the weather on the radio it's supposed to get down to -3 tonight!!! :eek!: The cold snap is coming back.

Saw the waxwings again this morning but they'd disappeared by the time I got back home.

Ha ha! I reckon so, Gill!:-O

Great with the Waxwings, Gill! The cold weekend weather may drive them down here, I live in hope!;)o:D

A lovely sunrise this morning proved to be a sailor's warning. By 11am the sky had darkened and now there are heavy showers with a brisk cold wind.

Good idea for a monthly thread Pam.

Grey, damp & overcast. Chilly breeze also.

I stood within a foot of a LT Tit this morning, I could have reached out my hand & touched it, it was quartering the bush by the front door where I work & didn't even notice me. Sadly I didn't have a camera as I should have been working. The rest of the party, around 10/15 were in the trees & bushes all around me, calling to each other. I carfully moved away so as not to scare it.
