A very breezy but sunny morning, now the rain is beating against the windows. 17C but feels colder.

Windy, raining and very cool this evening! I have put the heating on to get rid of the damp, chilly feel! What a start to September!

An overcast and cool morning.

Plenty of birds in the garden. I had 12 Starlings come down for food this morning they then flew onto the roof and began chattering away! Make you smile don't they!:-O

Overcast but dry start, some odd glimpses of sunshine, but rain not too far away.

My starling gang were in again this morning making very short work of the scone crumbs/suet pellets/sultanas.....reckon still around 20+ when they all first swoop in...yes, noisy little beggars aren't they?!

Dull here and overcast at the moment.

Plenty of rain last night.

Weather forecast said it was going to be really wet all over most of the UK tomorrow

Time for the waterproofs to appear once more.

Lucky you with the sunshine, Ruth! It is chucking it down here and has been for the last few hours! Glad you have the sun though!:t:
Hardly any berries left on my Rowan now, the Blackbirds have been feasting on it for a fortnight or more! There were not half as many berries as last year on the tree either!

It is absolutely chucking it down! When will it cease and let the sunshine?

Not many birds in my garden this morning...can't blame them for staying tucked away really can you!

Cold, steady rain, 10C but feels colder in NE wind. In view of the cost of energy I've resisted switching the central heating on - until now!

Hopefully things'll improve at the weekend to enable some birding!o:D

More rain here, a dull day, and a couple of heavy showers last night too

I hope that the weekend is better

heavy rain overnight deposited 25mm in my gauge by 10 this morning. Showery since and a couple of dry hours as well. Wind is making it feel chilly and the birds are hiding....who can blame them?

Neil and I have been like that too! It's not that we are struggling to pay the bills or anything but the last two electric bills have both been around the £240 mark :eek!: We both REALLY resent that - especially as we only live in a one-bedroomed flat. We can't work out whether it's the night storage heaters which are making it so expensive but even then we only have the one on in the living room :smoke:
We've had them switched off for the past three/four months however and our latest bill, which arrived on Monday this week, was for just £139.10.....HUGE difference!!! :eek!:
Nei is thinking about just buying an electric fire so we can switch it on when we need the actual heat rather than using the night-storage which give out heat all the time. If you have a sudden heatwave *remember those?* ;) it's still giving out heat and the living room ends up like a sauna!!! :smoke:

Today though it IS cold in the flat :smoke: It started off clear blue skies and sunny this morning (but with an autumnal nip in the air) but by midday it was raining. Very windy now too.

I'm staying in with a good book and a hot water bottle :-O

I had the heating on for an hour this morning and it's stayed warm in the house! o:D

We now have a severe weather warning out for Cheshire......it's still heaving it down and has done all day!!!! :eek!:

I've not had a single bird at the feeders neither!!!!:eek!:

Hi Pam.
I've just seen your 'foggy pics'. They are all good, but I particularly like the diamond- strung cowbeb. Really beautiful.
As for the weather in 'sunny Donny' ( ha-bl***y-ha), at the risk of being removed from BF I'll just say it's pouring down.

We're off to the New Forest tomorrow for a few days, via our son's in Reading, and the forecast says sunny from Monday. I won't hold my breath, but the prayer-mat's out.

Hi Pam.
Thanks for good wishes for the trip. If I don't enjoy myself, it will be someone elses fault, because I'll be trying hard.

Baz.
