Message: <blockquote data-quote="becksysmon" data-source="post: 1262247" data-attributes="member: 68437"><p>I've ordered a copy of the Collins bird book from my local library, should be with me in a few days so i can compare, but found the rspb pocket guide in whsmith at £3.99 so had to have it bargain price and I'm really struggling with identifying birds at the moment even on the rspb site i think a lot of the problem is understanding how they classify colors when using the bird identifier i might think it looks orange but the site only lists the bird under red feathers for example, i know this must seem so lame for many of you but we all start somewhere, and now what with the confusion of birds moulting and possibilities of breaking the norm typecast of identity for a while it's a bit of an uphill struggle, not to mention every time I'm on the Internet my daughter wants to 'use' it as well, what i can say is within a week or so of visiting this forum, I've gained so much insider info it's great, sunflower hearts are going down a treat and must try the soaked meal worms, soaked sultanas were a hit to with my blackbirds, i really think if i hadn't found this site i would of been looking at giving up and taking my feeders down, but i'm confident i've picked a dodgy time of year to be attracting huge numbers of birds into my little garden at the moment, first time ever i've been like roll on winter</p></blockquote><p></p>
