Where are all our Blue and Great Tits ? Carmarthenshire . (1 Viewer)

Hello, I live on the coast in Carmarthenshire and we feed the birds all through the year , currently have 3 feeders , 2 with peanuts, one with sunflower hearts which also get put on the lawn as the Collared Doves , Blackbirds and many Sparrows and Chaffinches and a few Robins love that .
Anyway, we also usually have a large population of Blue and Great tits who are constantly on the feeders and a pair have previously also nested in a wall we have.
I only noticed a few days ago that although our feeders are very busy with lots of House Sparrows especially as lots have fledged in the last week, Chaffinches and a pair of Woodpeckers, that I haven't seen or heard a single Tit for quite a while . The garden is very noisy but mostly with scores of House Sparrows .
June is the month I look forward to the sound , bew bew bew , as I call it when lots of newly fledged Blue and Great Tits surround our garden in the hedges and shrubs along with busy parents constantly on the feeders but in the last 2 days since I noticed, I haven't heard or seen a single one .
Does anyone have any ideas where they are ? I hope they are OK . Mark in Carmarthenshire.

They're all here! Loads and loads of them! 🙂 Hertfordshire.

Greenfinches are somewhat lacking here this year so whoever has them could they send them back when they've finished with them please. 😉

We’re across the channel from you, in Naarden, a town outside of Amsterdam. As usual, we have many many great tits this year. Normally we have about the same amount of Blue tits, but I haven’t seen any of them this year and am wondering what has happened to them.

here in soggy Stockport my feeders are being pillaged regularly by young and old Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Great Tits and a smaller number of Long-tailed Tits

Hi All
I’m new here, joined as I need to ask other bird lovers if they’ve noticed the very worrying fact that all the blue tita have disappeared.
I feed the birds all year round, have successful nest boxes year after year, but since mid June all my blue and great and long tailed tits have gone. The garden is eerily silent, no butterflies on the buddleia. I’m thinking chem trails, the situation is unprecedented and worrying

Hi Doodah,
I'm fairly new too as I had tit's nesting so was doing alot of enquiring...I found it a very good site so hopefully you will. Sadly, I'm no expert but what I can say is I successfully had the tit's fledge my box but the day they did I too haven't seen a tit since, that was early July so your not the only one, however, my garden is now overrun with baby sparrows and parents using the feeders so I still get to do some bird watching. Let us know if they come back.

Our garden .....

Blue tits, Great tits, Dunnocks, Goldfinches and Robins are still regular as clockwork here. We've also been inundated with House Sparrows over the past 2-3 weeks, which is unusual for us. As for Greenfinches, well, we've had a few visits this year but nowhere near in the numbers of previous years. However, we had our first ever Long-Tailed tits this year. Only for a very brief visit but exciting for us nonetheless.

Wrens seem to come and go but probably slightly down on visits this year.
Down, vastly, on Starling visits this year.
Blackbirds, also down on visits.
No Collared Dove visits that I can remember this year.

Lastly, Woodpigeons are still pretty regular visitors.
