Hi Bob. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Hope that your issues resolve or are more manageable as well. But like you say, whatchagonnado? Things could be better but they could be far worse as well. Got to keep plodding on around here ... That's for sure. Far too many Turkey Vultures in the area! :-O Ahhh... The woodchucks! I do *love* them so! I had a Chuckie as a patient for many months. I brought him home to recover after he had been hit by a car and he spent about 5 days in the ICU of our animal hospital. He loved a bath but getting dried was even better as he'd stretch out his arms as though to say, "Don't forget to get under here." I don't recall if I posted his story somewhere here. That's an awesome list you have. We still have the Dark-eyed Juncos, but had an influx of the White-capped Sparrows and HUNDREDS of Common Grackles and many Red-winged Blackbirds. More Robins arriving too. Who do you have as the ~regulars~? Carolina Wrens were here all winter ... and what a winter it was! We have both the Carolina and Black-capped Chickadees, Downy WP, Pileated WP, Hairy WP, Red-headed WP, White-breasted and Red-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creepers, Flickers, along with your basic Blue Jays, Cardinals, House Sparrows, Vespers Sparrows, Robins, Mourning Doves, Towhee, Killdeer, House and Purple Finches and the Starlings. Because of the large number and variety of birdy guests, the Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks are frequent visitors too. They come to see who they can have for lunch. On the way to work I've seen the Merlins, Hawks, Bald Eagles and even Golden Eagles. For the last 3(?) years I've even seen visiting Snowy Owls! :t: I live on Lake Erie so we also have the Great Blue Herons, Ring-billed Gulls, Mallards, Egrets, even saw some Pelican (!) on the Lake a few years ago! A nest of little Screech Owls is high up in one of the old Weeping Willows. Ours have not started to green-up yet but the Willows will soon be looking very pretty. Soon (early May) the dear Chimney Swifts will arrive and the routine to keep them safe will start anew. I'm glad you did join the ex-Beebs. It is as though you can drop in, make yourself comfy on the sofa and have a chat with friends about your day. I've been fortunate enough to ~know~ many of the fine people here since about 1999. Have a great weekend. We're supposed to get snowed upon tomorrow. B (: Lydia
