Which animal North/West Poland (1 Viewer)

Hello

I saw this cute animal some days ago when I walked in the fields with sedges and wetlands.. From what I can find on google it looks like a European Mink.. It moved swiftly around in the water and disappeared into the sedges/water afterwards.. But that species would be very rare around here at least from what I can read, so would like to hear someone opinion..

Thanks for any inputs..

Yep a Mink, the local smaller wildlife and birds wouldn't call them cute
Could be a fur farm escapee if not usual habitant, they're pretty common in the U.K. thanks to activists setting them free from fur farms some years ago. Only really the Otter that will predate them here.

Thanks to both of you for your reply.. Even I'm not aware of any farms around here, it must be an escapee then..

It is almost certainly not an escapee, they are an established non-native species. Origins of the species are escapes/releases, but that is largely generations back and not necessarily anywhere local (or even necessarily even in Poland) - the species has spread widely.
