Which Fall Upstate New York Species? (1 Viewer)

I saw this bird this morning on my property, but unfortunately it was out of focus. Do know which it is? Can you tell me how you came to that conclusion?

Scarlet Tanager, the bill is enough to be sure it is not a warbler, conical shaped not thin and long like a warbler. The bill is orangish yellow, the tail is notched and dark below, yellow overall = Scarlet Tanager.
