Sharp edges I think is most important when the binocular is mounted on a tripod and you move your eyes around the entire FOV in a way you don't do without support.Of course it's important how large the sweet spot is: sharp to 70% or 90% is a very important difference.And everything has it's price: sharpness to the edges demands a more advanced eyepiece design with more lenses resulting in a few percents lower light transmission.</blockquote>
