Which Wader - Karachi, Pakistan? (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Taken today - It has yellowish legs that stick out. it is clearly not a Marsh Sandpiper, Greenshank, Wood Sandpiper or any of the European Waders in the Collins Bird Guide book unless it is a Lesser Yellowlegs?
I am not sure which species occur to the East and winter in South East Asia.

Thanks in advance!

Marsh sandpiper - the white "cigar" on the back is covered by the open wing, whilst the tail is closed, so the white outer tail feathers are less conspicuous. The fine bill, yellow legs and overall pale appearance are also good pointers, and the species is not uncommon in Asia, whilst Lesser Yellowlegs would be a huge rarity.
Hope this helps!
