Wigeon - Lancashire, England (1 Viewer)

I'd be interested in thoughts of this female Wigeon sp. currently at Hesketh Out Marsh (where there is also currently a drake American Wigeon).

I guess, that unless the apparent greyish tinge and speckling to the axillaries are some sort photo artifact then a female American is ruled out? Shame as the rest of the bird looks pretty good.

Short video here showing best I have of the upper wing. https://youtu.be/CyEg8vRlI4c

A couple of us were down viewing these Wigeon this morning. We also thought there could have been a couple of American birds, but viewing conditions were poor with strong winds blowing the scopes about. Also, the flock was mobile and frequently disappearing into the bankside vegetation.
