Willow warbler? Dovrefjell-Kongsvoll, Norway - July 21 (1 Viewer)

Hello,
its easy to say that Willow Warbler is a better fit than Chiffchaff, with:
  • pale brownish-flesh legs and bright orange feet. More, they appear quite strong to me
  • a head pattern better for a WW
  • a quite strong bill (yes, I think this can be judged even with insects in the bill) with a very bright orange base (that is not caused by light-effects)
But is this a confident identification? Mmhh ... yes, I think so. But: do you have more pictures?

Thanks! I don't have more pictures of the same bird, but I do have other willow warbler photos from a different time in the day. Unless I hear them singing or calling, I get easily confused as I'm not aware of these features that you mentioned. Can I find these info on local bird guides?

Yes, as Butty has already said, a Field Guide, either in print or as an app, brings all the information together. The Collins Guide is considered as the best book available, but I like Lars Jonssons Birds of Europe, too. I recommend, that you buy them both!

The new picture shows a quite certain WW for me, too. Nice pictures, thanks for sharing!
