Tuesday 24th there was a Quail singing from a Barley field on Upton Cow Down between Warminster and Westbury, also at least three Corn Buntings and two Peregrines. Other more common birds included Whitethroat and Linnets.

The only bird of note during a drive around looking - unsuccessfully - for Owls this evening, was a Hobby near Maiden Bradley.

The highlights of a walk from Shearwater up to Nockatts Copse car park and back this afternoon were Crossbills, a Green Sandpiper on the ponds below the dam, and a Grey Wagtail around the Sailing Club.

A male Stonechat alongside the road between Shrewton and Chitterne, my first Wiltshire Stonechat for a while.

Two Swifts over Warminster this evening.

Also of note, a day flying small Bat at Fonthill Bishop this afternoon.

A late Swift over Warminster this morning, and at least ten Spotted Flycatchers near Longbridge Deverill this afternoon.

We went to Langford Lakes on Sunday. Several sightings of Kingfishers, which was nice and a few young Great Crested Grebes being fed.

Have had trouble seeing Red Kites, but at last they've shown themselves yesterday and today between Avebury and Marlborough. Didn't see any on the road to Hungerford where my sister says they always hang out - they know I'm here of course LOL.

A Spotted Flycatcher Day - one in our Warminster garden this morning, two in Warminster park near the Boating Lake, and another this afternoon between Broad Chalke village and the Ox Drove. Also a September Swift over Warminster this morning.

Another Hobby over our Warminster garden this morning, and two Wheatears and three Corn Buntings on Upton Cow Down, between Warminster and Westbury, this afternoon.
