Wings and Wildlife Festival of Southern Nevada (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Big news... our 1st Birding Festival in Southern Nevada, USA.

If you're looking for a vacation, come to Nevada. The festival is being held only 90 minutes away from Las Vegas.

The Southern Nevada Birding & Wildlife Trails Partnership would like to invite you and your members to attend our inaugural Wings and Wildlife Festival of Southern Nevada, held March 12-15, 2009, in Laughlin, NV.

The purpose of the event is to promote southern Nevada’s unique wildlife and bird populations and their exceptional viewing opportunities along the Colorado River. Birding opportunities will include species indigenous to the Southwest, as well as, late winter and early spring birds. With over 400 bird species seen in Clark County Nevada, the possibilities are amazing!

The festival will include:

* Indoor displays emphasizing nature or environmental and conservation-oriented messages
* Educational workshops and demonstrations including falconry, taxidermy, and live animals
* An “Art of Nature” show with featured speaker and Boulder City artist, Sharon Schafer
* Keynote speaker, John Acorn, “The Nature Nut”, scientist, author, and broadcaster
* Guided hiking and kayak tours for both beginning and advanced nature watchers
* Friday night “Wine & Art” event and a Saturday evening banquet

Admission to exhibitor booths and activities is free. A registration fee of $20 includes admission to the Wine and Art reception, educational seminars, and several guided tours. An evening banquet and remote adventures are also offered at additional costs.

All Wings and Wildlife Festival informational materials are available on our www.SNBWTP.org website. When you visit the website you will find a brochure introducing the partnership and festival, and also a comprehensive 13 page booklet with festival seminar, field trip, and scheduling information for printing. Additionally, the entire booklet has been converted to web pages for easy 'section by section' online reading.

We're very excited to provide these materials for you to share with your friends and contacts. We hope that you'll broadcast this widely, but suggest that you link to the website, as opposed to emailing documents to save on everyone's mailbox space.

We look forward to seeing you at the festival, March 12-15 2009, in Laughlin, NV. Let us know if you have any questions. [email protected]
