This is turning into the Daily Samandag Obituary.
Even though she was before my time, my dad's generation, I've watched her and Bogie on Turner Classics, and she never failed to mesmorize me with "The Look."
Women today owe her and director Howard Hawks a debt of gratitude for creating a strong female screen persona rather than the typical ditzy blonde or
femme fatale of that era. Something has been lost, though. Today, in order to be perceived as a strong persona, female actresses have to play in "action movies."
I can't believe Bacall was married to Frank Sinatra for 60 minutes, but then, who wasn't? :smoke:
