Posts disappearing from this thread?

What a silly question! Just joking...

Good question, actually. I remember a friend of mine from high school looking out the window and wishing he was a bird, ...
I have to agree with Bill about not wanting to be a song bird. The only bird worth being would be a raptor. ... I don't like the idea of having to kill squirrels, chipmunks or other birds, so I wouldn't want to be a raptor either. ...

I belong to those who acutally read the posts on this thread (I don't have a TV-set ...) and browsing a bit I discovered a strange thing yesterday:

If you go to Brock's original post (#645) you'll see that he starts with a quote himself, quoting a certain "marie12". But then there is NO post of marie12 on this thread!

Brock cannot have dragged the quote in from another thread either, because there are other posts that obviously answer the post of marie12 (#628 and #629).

I have to admit that I find it rather disconcerting if posts disappear, and especially if they disappear from a thread like this.

But maybe there is a natural explanation ... does anyone understand this? (In the meanwhile I hope that none of my posts will disappear ...)
