Wood Duck in Falkirk (1 Viewer)

New member
I saw a strange duck this morning whilst walking along the canal in Falkirk.
Never having seen one before I couldnt wait to get home to look it up and found that it was a wood duck. I also did a Google search and found myself logged into Birdforum. There were 2 sitings in Falkirk along the canal in 2010 and the description was exactly the same as I had seen - swiming alongside a group of mallards. So, it is nice to know that over a year later it is still here. I will keep a look out for it - or maybe more in the future!
Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

Wood Ducks are one of the most beautiful ducks around. Nice sighting.
Hi valsbirds7 and a warm welcome from me too

Keep an eye on the Scottish bashes 2011 thread. We usually have a few each year and they are all great fun. You'd be most welcome to join us if you can manage.
