hi all...not found much time for art related stuff these days...but here goes...
this was carved from lime..beak was made from a piece of antler, for strength.
then painted with acrylic paints, shaft is hazel...thanks ,mark...

how did you attach the head ? with threaded bar?

yes mate, threaded bar... the antler is very strong, & goes into the wood about
20mm...thanks for the comments.mark..

The web site looks good and paticularly like the way the woodcock sits directly on the shank
I mostly use nickel silver collars for mine ,but will try your approach to mouting the heads.
