Wooden bird bath sealer (1 Viewer)

I have a large wooden bowl, like a dough bowl that I would like to use as a bird bath. I don't know the wood but it is definitely not teak.

What kind of wood sealer should I use that would be bird safe?

Spar polyurethane is going to be your best waterproof finish for wood. In checking a woodworking connected site they say the key to being food safe is proper curing, which is described as 30 days at room temperature.
