Starting to seem snug. Where are there any large pools of endemics left for him?
He has 9 days to get 60 species, wishing him luck!
Apparently one more day in New Zealand tomorrow.
A Kaikoura pelagic for albatrosses, etc?
Per twitter:-
nz finally finishes on Tiritiri Martangi today. Still a few more NZ endemics 2C before he goes. Today is operation Kokako!

Polynesia would do it but will require a couple of island-hops.
EDIT: just noticed he also hasn't seen NZ Falcon yet, which is very easy to find on Motuara Island!
Hardly any (not enough) birds in Polynesia sensu stricto, Melanesia is the key!
cheers, a
Could always try the other direction with Amnesia :king:
Been distracted this evening but a train journey home to play with ebird.
The percentage of targets is significantly higher for him in Africa, Asia and Oceania. Indeed, when you take into account the 300 species that he had previously recorded but has not done so this year, I imagine that slogging the Western Hemisphere (even South America) would supply him with limited pickings.
He is only 600 behind the highest list on ebird for the Western Hemisphere but 1,760 behind the Eastern Hemisphere equivalent:-

"Have you ever done a Big Year with over 6,000 birds? Looks likely Noah Strycker will. On Sunday December 27, I will be bringing Noah to Bidadari around 4:00pm while he is on a transit stop in Singapore. We hope to add a few ticks to his list. He needs Grey Nightjar, Hodgson's Hawk Cuckoo, Japanese Paradise Flycatcher, most any rare flycatcher or thrush; all possibilities at Bida. So if you are keen to help dig out some birds on Sunday, see you in Bida."
Get speculating...
Japan??
