To  my eyes the porro's are definitely optically better. I don't think it because they are a different "type" of view. It is because they are a higher quality view in my opinion. They are definitely not the "perfect" binoculars. But for the quality of the view versus the dollars I paid for these binoculars they are definitely the best VALUE I have ever seen.Dennis</blockquote>
