Yellow Crowned Night Heron or am I just insane? (1 Viewer)

Yellow Crowned Night Herons are a good deal less common where I live (Chicago) than Black Crowned's, but they are seen now and then. And I don't see how this can be a Black Crowne. It's hanging out on a tributary of the river near a busy street. Was not expecting to see one there.

Anyway, someone please confirm or deny. Thanks.

Black-crowned night-heron: big covert-spots, short legs, suggestion of pale bill-base and narrowish bill.
Was there something specific that made you think yellow-crowned night-heron?
