Yorkshire Raptor Madness (1 Viewer)

Whilst walking some Yorkshire moorland I came across a Red Kite. Even though I see Red Kites everyday they are slightly out of context in this area and habitat - so I followed it. Picture 1

Soon enough a Ringtail Hen Harrier pops up and joins it in the air, fantastic - Picture two. There is nothing as special as seeing harriers in their natural context and my hairs are standing on end, when...

... boosh a Buzzard stoops on the Red Kite, which in turn is mobbed by the Harrier. Unbeleivable scenes. I watch slack jawed for the next three or minutes as in turn they all harrass each other. Picture 3 and 4.

Incredibly I had already scene a stoat catch and kill a Rabbit here

Reminds me of Boxing Day i think in 1989 when i saw a Hen Harrier mobbing a Rough Legged Buzzard which in turn was having a go at a White Tailed Eagle.

Fabulous, Marcus. Always great to see a multi-raptor sight - but Kite & Harrier - wow!
Loved the Stoat-rabbit incident - very rare to see them - let alone a kill. V. jealous too.
Great pics BTW.

It doesn't seem to have a tag - are many of the Yorkshire kites untagged?

Cheers,
Bob.
