...a Brunian Birder...
Long time no post, sorry about that! Went to Bempton Cliffs and Blacktoft Sands today, the cliffs were alive with kittiwakes, fulmars, gannets, razorbills, guillemots and the odd puffin. way too many to count o:D Blacktoft sands produced 3 Marsh Harriers, around 30 Avocets, 1 female Garganey, Shoveler, Pochard and Shelduck, missed out on the Bearded tits though :-C but there will be other times ;)

good day today! At strumble there were loads of birds and dolphins and porpoises too!
On way back saw a collared dove sized bird with grey head and dark wings- any ideas? (hoping red backed shrike- the only other one I could think of was extremely late fieldfare!)

had a nice enjoyable day out with the parents today in the New forest... when we arrived i could hear some crunching in the pine trees above me, i looked up and got the best view of a Crossbill i have ever got:t: there were loads in the surrounding trees.......Hirundines were everywhere along with a group of Treecreepers scampering up along the pine.Later on the path there were a few Stonechats and some Lapwings(passing through?) aswell as Some Cuckoos "Cuckooing" (elusive buggers!!)also seen were Chaffinches,Great tits,LTTs,Blue tits,Buzzards and some more stuff i cant remember:-O

the only downside was that it was SO HOT and we had forgetten the drinks(it runs in the family;)) it was defo a candidate for hottest day of the year:eek!:

Got 4 (!) Cuckoos the morning. 1 male holding one territory, then another 2 males fighting over a female in another territory! Also a pair of Turtle Doves, 2 Common Terns, 4 Oystercatchers, and 2 pairs of Shelduck (one of which had a brood of 9 chicks!) at my patch today.

Below is a pic of one of the male Cuckoos.
