Hi Adin. Nice to see more young birders on the thread don't think I've seen you around before Dark Knight either. Well done on the shrike sp. Ash. Any shrike'd be a lifer for me. And well done on the dowitchers Jonny and MCspud, some great birds. And I hope the move has/is going well TJ.
I am a member of the rspb although I don't think I'm listed as being a child or teenager after a lady at Dungeness got a bit confused when we signed up as my mum wanted a family membership for a single parent which they didn't offer! (bit old fashioned I thought) Nothing too exciting except for a coal tit in my local park, which I'd not seen there before.

Welcome Adin.
I did get the Shrike Sp. at the lizard yesterday, I didn't have great views but It flew back and forth from a bush a couple of times. I did tho' get great views of 6 Chough's flying over.
The shrike is still un-confirmed as a Brown shrike so It'll have to wait to be ticked.

Some images of shrike (not mine): http://www.cornwall-birding.co.uk/

hi ash well done on the shrike , keep my fingers crossed for u that it turns out to be a brown shrike :t:

The Sandhill is migrating guys! Where do you want it to land next? Fingers crossed it follows the coast from where it was last seen near Inverness, then it could end up here in Aberdeenshire. o:D

Well I'd like it to land near my house but I doubt I'm that lucky. Good luck Joseph, you might just get it. Although knowing the year Kent is having It'll probably land there.

Hey tj, glad to hear the journey is going well, and well done on Black Kite! ;)

The Sandhill seems to have just completely disappeared, I wonder if it will be found again, or if it has landed somewhere where no-one is watching?

In my wildest of dreams the sandhill will turn up along the shore of the thames in west London :p but I suspect that somewhere as large as the region of scotland into which it could've dropped into and the fact that the area's not that widely watched means it could still be out there. Although I'd be happy to settle on Ash's prediction of Kent!
Well done on the black kite tj and good to hear its going well. No doubt it will be one of many new birds.
Also well done Adin on the egyptian vulture. I've only seen a couple before but they're wicked birds.

What time is bird?
Well I'm off to uni tomorrow, so I think it might be time to bow out of being a "young birder"!!! Although considering the birding demographic anyone under 40 might well be consdered "young"...

Hello!

I am also a young birder, 13, who really loves birding. I am out so much I could all the time, and I specially likes to watch birds migrating. (Don't know how you say that in English, "Sträckskådning" in Swedish) I also likes very much so see rare birds from other countries. And it's good then that I have Swedens best place for that not to far away - Ottenby, Olands southern tip. Here I have seen a Steppe Eagle, a Lesser spotted Eagle, and the american subspecies of Brent Goose, Nigricans.

WOOPS! sorry for reminding you about that. I should really read posts a little more carefully :eek!: Well I'm sure you'll catch up with one at some point B :)
And colonel Blimp. From my experience of the birding fraternity (or should that be paternity, or grand paternity!?!?) you can most definitely still call yourself a young birder.
Nice to see another new birder Rasmus. And some great birds you've seen as well, I look forward to hearing more from sweden!

cheers Joseph and Louiso:D yesterday i had one of the greatest days of my life!!! it started when we were driving across Spain over the mountains when i started saying "where are all the bloody vultures???" then, this is no joke, dad shouted out what are those big bird of preys! i looked up to see 3 griffon vultures circling....

We came back the next day after sleeping in the local town, found a car pull in, next to the vultures flight path and waited. a few vultures popped up in the distance sending me into panic to quickly get my scope on them before they dissapeared..... i need not of worried as at that exact point a massive griffon vulture flew from behind us and right over our heads!! i managed a vid but i dont know how to show it yet. Also saw about 7 Red kites, plenty of Ravens and one big bird of prey in the distance which could of been a Golden eagleo:D
